Brief screen report
At time 1:57:00
has to be the most important part of the Hurt locker. It gives you the reason
why the characters are there and what might happen later. They have just
finished their last bomb defusing as a team they will face. The question is why
Jason is there in the first place. He has a kid and a family how can he be there
and take the risks and leave his family alone. Sanborn can’t take it anymore
and will not come back to all that sand. Sanborn simply ask why does Jason
keeping coming back. Jason has no clue why he keeps coming back. He asks
Sanborn if he knows why he Jason keeps coming back. Than everything goes silent
and the next scene is Jason back state side. This shows that Sanborn will not
be going back and that the only person left in the bomb removal squad is Jason.
The scene before depicts the death of a man forced into being a suicide bomber
and really moves Sanborn into thinking about what may happen. He wants to live
a quiet and family man life he has done his time and that is final. Jason is
depicted as a man on the edge and just can’t get enough of it. This since also
depicts that people sacrifice a lot of things to serve their country but there
are others that just can’t get enough of it. Jason and Sanborn also have scares
on their faces as well. This shows how beat up they both are and that everyone
has scares from the things they see.
